The College Student Body of Government Degree College (GDC), Marheen, was constituted through a democratic and participatory process on 21 August 2026 for the session-2026-2027. The Students’ Welfare Committee facilitated the process, in which students from Semester I, III and V actively participated under the guidance and supervision of the faculty members. The students exercised their democratic right by electing their respective Class Representatives (CRs) among them: Ms. Lata Shree elected CR of Sem-5th, Mr.Deeraj Sharma CR of Sem-III, and Mr. Darpan CR of Sem-Ist. Subsequently, Ms.Lata Shree of Semester V has been nominated the President of the college, in accordance with the procedure decided by the committee. The entire election process was conducted smoothly and successfully under the benign supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta, esteemed Principal of the College. She appreciated the active participation of the students and emphasized the importance of democratic values, leadership, responsibility and active participation in college affairs. Dr. Arun Dev Singh Convener and Dr. Balbinder Singh Co- Convener (SWC) served as the overall in-charges of the entire election process. Dr. Shallu Rani, Prof. Manu Saini, Prof. Diksha and Dr. Reemi facilitated and guided the students throughout the process and extended their cooperation for the successful constitution of the College Student Body. The democratic constitution of the Student Body provided the students with an opportunity to develop leadership qualities, a sense of responsibility and an understanding of democratic practices. The process concluded successfully with the active participation and cooperation of the students, faculty and college administration.
